How can an agent detect consequential changes that were never stated as explicit requests?
Study how memory-graph activation, change, gaps, tensions, associations, pressures, and commitments produce candidate interventions filtered by ValueGate, CompetenceGate, and AttentionBudget.
How can long-term evidence form a persistent understanding of the user, the agent, their partnership, and the surrounding environment?
Study the formation, conflict, promotion, decay, retraction, and cross-context transfer of UserModel, AgentSelfModel, PartnershipModel, and CognitiveMap.
How can an agent's autonomy expand with competence evidence while preserving user authority?
AutonomyEnvelope defines the granted ceiling. CompetenceGate defines the ceiling supported by capability evidence. Study how both boundaries combine with risk, trust, failure evidence, and verified outcomes to determine the effective intervention level.
How can one cognitive subject remain continuous when execution is distributed across models, tools, subagents, and devices?
Study unified event sources, memory projections, runtime handoff, least authority, and outcome integration so distributed execution preserves one goal, cognition, and responsibility boundary.
Method
Research conclusions must become operational, verifiable, and reversible system mechanisms.
Each question passes through boundary definition, mechanism design, real action, outcome verification, counterevidence analysis, and architectural revision. A concept does not enter the product unless it can be expressed as system objects, observation paths, and failure conditions.
Long-term direction
An agent that persists and continues to form its own cognition.
forme aims to preserve goals, relationships, judgment, and boundaries across open environments and long time horizons. As cognition and capability mature through real outcomes, step-by-step instruction occupies less of the interaction, while proactive judgment and autonomous action expand through evidence. The objective is subject-level capability in complex reality: persistence, continual learning, sustained goals, and self-correction. Model performance on a single prompt is only a prerequisite.
